In a game like Assassin’s Creed Odyssey, one has to wonder how to level up or level up quickly but is leveling up quickly really necessary when doing Assassin’s Creed Odyssey Missions, is there a price to pay and if so, what kind? There are two conclusions that can be reached regarding certain missions. One, you can take on any timed mission you want to at any time before it expires. Two, the message board missions are plentiful and gives you an opportunity to reach higher levels.

Naturally, you’re rewarded for every mission you complete which gives you anything from gear and experience points. You know, the worst thing you can do is get a bunch of missions that you cannot do until a little later in the game or until you can get access to a part of the game that’ll allow you entry into a part of the game where completing those missions become necessary. So, please don’t make my mistake because that’s exactly what I did.

Having said that, there’s one type of “item” you’ll find missions on that are never-ending and can really make a difference in your gaming strategy for getting stronger and that is the message board missions which I’ll discuss in this post.

The Message Board Missions

At first glance, assassin’s creed odyssey missions are not that challenging but when you start taking missions from the message board, you’ll quickly find yourself getting overwhelmed. The problem with the message board missions is that you can get so caught in doing so many so quickly that you start forgetting what you need to do to get them done which can be in the form of trekking to another plane of existence i.e. another part of the continent or a whole another town.

The message board missions take you all over Greece and you can easily clear them by simply doing what they ask of you which usually requires you to kill bandits or sink ships or both along with other tasks. Though the message board missions are many, you are not required to do them or do them all. One of the biggest mistakes that you can make with the message board missions is to try to take on more than you can handle or won’t be able to handle until later on in the game.

The great thing about the message board missions is that you’re never doing just one thing, you’re doing many things but the amount of missions there are can complicate matters with your actual missions in the game so don’t be hasty to take them.

Weighing your options with the Message Board

The message board in many of the towns in Assassin’s Creed Odyssey are up for the taking and revolve around many of the townspeople near and far that need help in some way, shape and form. When you do Assassin’s Creed Odyssey Missions from the message board, you should always try to see which missions you can do right now versus later on.

For example, you can take down some Athenian ships and some Athenian soldiers right now because you’re directed to where the Athenian soldiers are and you have a ship to sink Athenian ships. At the end of the day, it is all about using the tools at your disposal in order to accomplish these goals. However, some of the message board missions require that you wait until you get to other parts of the continent before taking on the task.

If that’s the case then do not sign up for those until you actually get to the actual part of the game and in so doing this, you’ll be able to keep your tasks already on the task board uncluttered. I do have a theory, I believe that the message board missions follow you all over Greece appearing on message board after message board so if you do see this then don’t be alarmed.

Don’t get ahead of yourself

The worst thing that you can do is try to do all of a message board’s missions before continuing on with the story and that’s what I did only to find that you cannot do any of the later missions that are meant to be done later, missions like the Lightning Bringer or Bounty on a Mercenary; Bounty on a Mercenary usually has you going after a mercenary that you’re either no match for right now or that’s too far away in a land you’re not meant to traverse or travel to yet.

In my experience in playing the game so far, I’ve had the misfortune of having the mercenary end up in my locale looking for me and I can’t touch them because I’m no match for them. However, they do make it easy to get out of town under their noses while they’re searching for me which many of them are.

The one thing that you always want to keep in mind when you’re taking the message board missions or even looking at them, be patient; do not throw yourself into doing 5 million these but you only have access to 2 or 3; again, don’t make my mistake.

Pros, Cons and advice on handling the Message Board

Now, there are tons of benefits to doing the message board missions and in so doing the Assassin’s Creed Odyssey Missions, you can rise several levels very quickly but you should also exercise some caution when it comes to the message board missions and you should also take the pros and cons of doing the message board missions into account. Make no mistake, you might think one outweighs the other but I assure you that both the pros and cons are equal but that is not to say that the pros can’t outweigh the cons and vice versa.

One of the pros to doing the message board missions is that you can level up very quickly, it is without a doubt one of the fastest ways to level up in the game thereby leaving enemies very little chance of killing you even if they bring in a mercenary or one just happens to be hawking around. Another beneficial aspect is that mercenaries will have a hard time killing you, so it gives you a better chance of survival against mercenaries.

However, where there’s pros, there’s cons as well like the message board missions can get repetitive and very boring along with irritating because you’ll often find that nothing changes on the message board not to mention that a lot of the same missions become a waste of time especially since they show up on the message board more than a few times across message boards.

My advice for dealing with message board missions is this, take one or two at a time that you can do and do them, leave the rest alone until you get to a part of the game where you can deal with the other ones that take you to other continents. Also, only do the ones that will reward you with Orichalcum Ore as a reward because Oikos can give you valubale gear for that Orichalcum. Remember that.

Assassin’s Creed Odyssey Missions give Alexios and Kassandra their mighty strength and ability to stomp their competition. However, the message board has tasks on it that need to be done but should be done in small doses so as to not get overwhelmed. Although the message board tasks can take a little while to do, they do make it possible to go up several levels but also keep in mind too that they can get repetitive forcing you to leave them alone for the time being or to avoid them altogether.

So what do you think of my post, do think that the message board missions are worth doing all at once or do you think they should be avoided, what are your thoughts? Leave me a message and I’ll get back to you immediately. Thank you and Happy gaming.

Completing the main game will give you access to this dlc, the Fields of Elysium

Its always refreshing to read another gamer’s post. Ive played several of the Assassin’s Creed games but hadnt made my way to playing Odyssey just yet. I like your breakdown of the message board missions and the advice you give to the reader. Sometimes, games have so many side missions that it can distract from the main game and you may get lost in remembering what youre supposed to do. I know I am guilty of always pursuing as many side missions as I can because some of the cool gear or weapons are located there and can help with the main story line. It seems in Odyssey that you do have to pace yourself with the message board missions and balance with the main missions. Very nicely done!

Yes indeed, I was once like that too. But, I learned that you have to pace yourself and only do so many that you can do. Ultimately, you don’t need to worry about the message board unless you need to level up or even just do the missions that award you with Orichalcum Ore.
